My doctoral research focuses on unravelling the evolutionary history of Amaranthaceae sensu stricto using phylogenomic analyses, biogeographic reconstructions, and ancestral state inference. I am particularly interested in determining the age and geographic/ecological origin of the lineage, as well as investigating the evolution and diversification of C₄ photosynthesis
